Today, we proudly announce that Public Outreach New Zealand has changed its name to Public Outreach Aotearoa.
By using the country's original name it reflects our commitment to collective healing and inclusion, but also, in our affirmation that there were people living here before colonisation happened.
This name change is one small step in our much broader journey to better understand and respond to cultural conversations that have both historical and contemporary importance.
As an organisation with strong ethical values, the use of Aotearoa helps us to positively contribute to how everyday people and organisations can better embrace Te Ao Māori.
